"What I say is that, if a man really likes potatoes, he must be a pretty decent sort of fellow."

A.A. Milne

I like food and I'm bored

So I've been trying to write a daily piece on something to do with food. Why?

I have moved to a new website. This one will stay but will not be added to.

Either follow the blog on a daily basis or dip into it now and then or ignore it completely. Maybe you might be inspired to do something similar on a different topic. It's quite good fun and keeps the brain ticking over. And Wix is so easy to use.  Looks good too.

The photograph below is one of my French favourites.

"We conceive who we are as we conceive the meal in front of us."

Kathleen Alcott

“A hungry man is an angry man"

"We have to eat; we like to eat; eating makes us feel good; it is more important than sex.  To ensure genetic survival the sex urge need only be satisfied a few times in a lifetime; the hunger urge must be satisfied every day."     Robin Fox

“More die of food than famine"

“Like the heart, the stomach wants what it wants.

Emily Nunn"

"Cooking can be as passionate, creative, life-enhancing, uplifting, satisfying and exhilarating as anything else you can do with your life"  Nigel Slater

“If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.”
J.R.R. Tolkien

"Remember that food is memory and information and nutrition and is made up of so much more than just calories."

Abra's Kitchen

"Food, like love, must never be a joyless experience."

Bert Greene

“Anyone who likes to eat, can soon learn to cook well."

Jane Grigson

“Since we must eat to live, we might as well do it with both grace and gusto.”

M.F.K. Fisher
